About Making Reservations
Third-Party Reservations
-
Reserving your campsite through a third party is not recommended. The only way to guarantee your campsite is by booking it through Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca or by calling the campground directly.
- To make a campsite reservation with Alberta Parks, consult "centralized online reservation service" and/or "More campground resevations".

Rules/procedures common to all reservation services:
-
Please have the following information ready when you make your reservation:
- Preferred campground (first & second choices)
- Arrival & departure dates
- Name & address
- Telephone number (residence & business)
- Type of equipment (i.e. tent, tent trailer, motor home)
- Credit card number & expiry date
- A non-refundable $10.00 reservation fee is required to confirm your reservation.
- Your stay cannot exceed 16 consecutive nights.
- Camping fees vary, depending on facilities and services provided at the campground; showers, power hook-ups and power/water hook-ups are available at some campgrounds.
- Visit our camping fees page for information about our fee schedule; for individual campground fees, visit the appropriate provincial park or recreation area page on our search parks website.
Rules/procedures for campgrounds on the centralized online reservation service:
- Full pre-payment of all overnight camping fees must be made at the time the reservation is made.
- If you cancel your reservation more than 24 hours in advance of 2:00 p.m. of your scheduled arrival date, you will receive a full refund of your pre-paid camping fees.
- If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours before your scheduled arrival date, you will forfeit the first night's fee.
- All reservations made online must be paid by credit card. (Visa, Mastercard and American Express)
- All reservations made via the centralized online reservation service are campsite-specific. You pick your campsite when you make your reservation.
- After May 1, reservations may be made up to 90 days in advance.
90 days from today is:
- There is a limit of four (4) campsite reservations per transaction on the centralized online reservation system (within the 90-day period).
- Any combination is permissible (i.e. four campsites at one campground on the same dates; one campsite on four different dates at the same campground; four different campsites on four different dates within the same campground; four campsites at four different campgrounds).
- There is no limit to the number of times you can go online, phone or appear in person to make up to four reservations.
- Multiple reservations must be made on one user account with one credit card.
- Any combination is permissible (i.e. four campsites at one campground on the same dates; one campsite on four different dates at the same campground; four different campsites on four different dates within the same campground; four campsites at four different campgrounds).
- Groups requiring more than 4 campsites should consider reserving a group use area. (Note: as yet, you cannot make group camping reservations via the centralized online system)
- The centralized online reservation system will allow only one camping accommodation unit per campsite; the campground operator has the option of overriding this limitation at check-in (an additional camping fee would be charged for a second accomodation unit. An exception to this is where the
camping party has a tent in addition to their accommodation unit and only one motor vehicle registered to the campsite. No additional fee is charged for the tent).
- Reservation sites will be held until 2:00 pm of the day after your first scheduled night, at which time the campsite will be released for resale.
- If you are a "no show" you forfeit the first and second night's camping fee; refunds of any remaining fees will be processed by Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca within seven days.
- The reservation fee is not refunded; it is retained to cover the costs of administration associated with reservations.
- If you are eligible for a refund as a result of a cancellation you make online, the refund is initiated as soon as the information is entered into the system.
- You forfeit one night's camping fee if you cancel your stay less than 24 hours before the 2p.m. check time.
- Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible. Since credit cards are used to make the payment, a credit will show up on your statement for the refunded amount.
Rules/procedures applicable to campgrounds accepting telephone reservations; see "More campground reservations" above:
- In addition to the non-refundable $10.00 reservation fee, a deposit equal to the first night's camping fee is required to confirm your reservation.
- If you cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before your scheduled arrival date, the deposit will be refunded.
- If you cancel your reservation at least 48 hours before your scheduled arrival date, the deposit will be refunded.
- MasterCard and VISA are the preferred methods of payment of the reservation fee and deposit.
- Although you cannot reserve a specific campsite, we do try to accommodate such requests whenever possible.
- You can book up to four reservations at a time for the same date in the same campground.
- Groups requiring more than 4 campsites should consider reserving a group use area.
- At any given campground, you may only have one active reservation at a time; a new reservation for that campground can be made the day after your reservation has expired.
