What software do I need to run the Online reservation website?
- The reservation website requires:
- Internet Explorer 6 SP3 (V 6.0.2900.5512) or better; or Firefox
- Adobe Flash Player 10 (V10.0.22.87)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 9
- www.adobe.com to download Adobe software
- Mac users - download Firefox for Macs
Can I view the website using a browser other than Internet Explorer?
- Yes, you will be able to view and interact with the website; however, some features may not function as expected
- To have full functionality, Internet Explorer or Firefox is required
I tried the online service but could not get through - why?
- There are a variety of reasons why you may be unable to get through online:
- an unexpected interruption of service through your Internet Service Provider
- the website is temporarily down for maintenance
- the maximum number of concurrent users has been reached
- there is an unexpected outage on the Government of Alberta server
- If you can't get through online, call 1-877-537-2757 to book by phone
I went online but the website was down - where can I get help?
- Outages are usually temporary - attempt to access the website every 10 minutes or so until the site is back up & running; or call 1-877-537-2757 to book by phone
When I went online I got an error message - what does this mean & what should I do?
- Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca was designed to handle 2500 concurrent users - if that number is exceeded you will get an error message
- If you get an error message, try again until you get through, or call 1-877-537-2757 to book by phone
Why can't I open campground maps or photos on my computer?
- To view campground maps & photos, ensure that you have the following software installed on your computer:
- Adobe Flash Player 10 (V10.0.22.87)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader 9
- visit www.adobe.com to download Adobe Flash Player & Adobe Acrobat Reader
How do I download the campground maps and photos? Why can't I print the maps and photos?
- The pages are done in Flash and as such cannot be downloaded or printed
- Campground layout maps are available for some provincial campgrounds - visit our "online publications" website to download them
Why do the pictures on my screen look quite large or aren't in focus?
- To properly view images on Reserve.AlbertaParks.ca, minimum monitor resolution = 1024x768
- For best results, set your monitor resolution to 1440x990
Can I make a reservation online from my Blackberry or other mobile device?
- Not at this time
Why do I have to enter a security code when making a reservation?
- This code is a tool that helps prevent fraudulent use of the application
When I log into my account, there is a prompt indicating that the site is not secure - is it safe for me to make a credit card payment online?
- Yes - credit card payments are made through the secure credit card processing service MiraPay - when you click the button to pay, you are redirected to their secure website where you can safely enter your credit card details
I received an error message while trying to make a credit card payment for my reservation - what should I do?
- Even though it is rare, problems can occur during the credit card transaction
- If you received an error message or are not sure your transaction was processed, call 1-877-537-2757 to speak with a reservations agent who will run the transaction through on their system - if that isn't successful, you will have to contact your credit card provider
How do I delete my online user account? If I don't use my account for a long period of time, does it become inactive?
- User accounts are not automatically deactivated, nor can you delete your user account from the website
- If you wish to have your online account deleted, call the 1-877-537-2757 - the representative will put in a service request to have the account deactivated.
- It is recommended that you retain your account if you plan on using the website on an annual basis - your user account makes it easier & faster for you to reserve online & helps us to evaluate the reservation service
- The personal information in your user account is protected by the privacy provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act; it is collected by the Government of Alberta under the authority of section 33 of the Act and can only be used for the purpose it was collected
Do I need to have popup windows enabled to use the online reservations website?
- No - the website is designed to function without popup windows
I got an error message when trying to access a page on the website - what should I do?
- First try accessing the page again - if the error message persists, call 1-877-537-2757 to book by phone
I'm having trouble logging in.
- First make sure your browser is set to accept cookies and that JavaScript has been enabled:
- on Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options & click the "privacy" tab - set the bar to medium & click "OK"
- on Firefox, go to Tools > Options & click "privacy" - make sure the checkbox "accept cookies from site" is enabled & click "OK"
