Campsite reservations can be made at many provincial campgrounds. This service will help you plan your vacation, especially during the busy months of July and August.

Making Reservations

• Reservations may be made beginning the first business day in May of each year (May 1, 2008) by calling the appropriate reservation office between 8:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; some sites may accept reservations earlier (Kananaskis Country reservations may be made beginning April 1, 2008).
• You will be required to provide the following information when you make your reservation:
  1. arrival and departure dates
  2. name and address
  3. telephone number (home and business)
  4. type of equipment (e.g. tent, tent trailer, travel trailer, motorhome)
  5. credit card number and expiry date
• Please check our Know Before You Go webpage before you reserve your campsite to stay up to date on any site closures, liquor bans or other inconveniences that may impact your visit.
• Reservations cannot exceed 16 consecutive days.

Reservation Fee

• A $10.00 non-refundable reservation fee, plus a deposit equal to the first night's camping fee, is required to confirm your reservation.
• MasterCard^tm or VISA^tm are the preferred means of payment.
• The deposit is refundable only if your reservation is cancelled at least 2 days in advance.

Camping Fees

• Camping fees vary depending on the facilities and services provided in the campground.
• Showers, campsites with power hook-ups and campsites with power and water hook-ups are available in some campgrounds.

Alberta Parks Campsite Reservation Service Update:

The Alberta Parks campsite reservation system has been unusually busy since reservations began on May 1st. Parks Division personnel process calls as quickly as possible but callers may still be greeted with busy signals occasionally over the course of the summer.

Although a 2006 survey found that 45 per cent of park visitors prefer to book campsites on the phone, the department is currently planning a new online reservation service to make it easier for visitors to reserve campsites in provincial parks and recreation areas.

There are a number of complex issues that need to be addressed before online reservations will be available (e.g. not all of our sites have Internet connections); however, we hope to pilot online reservations at select sites as early as spring 2009.

Booking your reservation through a third-party provider is NOT RECOMMENDED. The only way to guarantee your campsite is to book by phoning one of the numbers listed below.
